About SketchDeck.ai
SketchDeck.ai builds SketchDeck (formerly LIFT), AI takeoff software for structural steel fabricators and erectors. SketchDeck reads 2D construction drawings and does the manual counting and measuring, then exports the bill of materials to the systems shops already use. 500+ estimators use SketchDeck to build hospitals, stadiums and data centers.
Our customers work with engineering drawings, material data and complex project workflows, often under bid-deadline pressure. Our job is to turn those messy, real-world inputs into tools they can rely on.
The role
We’re hiring a Senior Product Manager to build core parts of SketchDeck from the ground up. This is a hands-on role: you’ll take complex, technical problems and turn them into simple, reliable tools that estimators depend on.
You’ll own real product outcomes and decide how AI shows up in day-to-day work, in a product people use on live bids. You’ll spend time with customers, set the roadmap, and write the requirements engineering builds from.
What you’ll do
Product planning and prioritization
- Own a 12 to 24 month product roadmap, organized by domain and aligned to company and go-to-market goals
- Balance technical debt, platform investment and feature delivery with clear, defensible trade-offs
- Be the single source of truth for product priorities across engineering, sales and customer success
- Keep the team focused by saying no to reactive, low-impact work and last-minute churn
Execution and delivery
- Turn product strategy into well-scoped epics, stories and tickets with clear acceptance criteria
- Own sprint planning, backlog readiness and delivery commitments
- Anticipate dependencies, edge cases and sequencing so work doesn’t stall downstream
- Protect engineering from ambiguity and interruptions so they can stay focused
Product discovery and customer understanding
- Lead customer discovery through interviews, feedback sessions and watching how estimators actually work
- Join strategic and at-risk customer conversations with real product authority
- Turn customer, market and usage insights into clear problem statements
- Decide the right shape of solution for each problem, from a lightweight workflow to a core platform feature
Cross-functional alignment
- Explain the customer and business value of product decisions and shipped features
- Give sales and customer success the context they need on roadmap direction and feature intent
- Turn go-to-market needs and customer feedback into structured, prioritized engineering work
- Work closely with product and engineering leadership to grow how much the team can deliver
What you bring
- B2B SaaS product experience: 5+ years building and shipping customer-facing software in a startup or high-growth company
- A builder’s track record: you’ve taken a product from scratch to real customer or business impact
- Technical comfort: you can hold your own in conversations about architecture, data and technical trade-offs without needing to code
- Customer fluency: you’ve worked directly with customers and used what you heard to make product decisions
- Strong requirements: you write clear, thorough requirements that engineers trust and can build from without guesswork
- Outcome ownership: you’ve been accountable for results such as adoption, retention or workflow improvement, not only for shipping features
